Here are a few of of the many Ministries and Church programs available at Annapolis First Baptist.
Sunday School
Sunday School begins at 10am each Sunday morning. Its main goal is to study God’s word and to equip our people to make the Bible a part of their Christian walk. Not only do we learn from God’s word, but we also draw strength from one another through fellowshipping together. Sunday School has been, and continues to be, a vital part of our church. Study to show thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15.
Youth
Youth ministry is always a vital component to the health of any growing church. An effort to reach and teach our community’s youth has begun anew. At First Baptist Church, many hours have been spent in Sunday School, at lock-ins, in church camp, on mission trips, flying to state Bible Drill, and the like. The youth have attended Super Summer which is a camp sponsored by the Missouri Baptist Convention. Several youth have been saved during these intense experiences with God. The youth have also attended the Dare 2 Share Conference in St. Louis for the past three years where they learned how to share the Gospel with their family and friends. We pray that our church will continue to see the importance of ministering to the future of the church, the youth.
Children
Children are a very important part of our church. They are open to learning about God and we have the great privilege of sharing God’s word with them through Sunday School, Children’s Church, Church Training and Wednesday Night Kid's Classes. From the outgrowth of teaching kids the true meaning of Christmas, we started having “Happy Birthday, Jesus” parties each year. Through food, Happy Birthday Cake, games, and adults sharing gifts with the children, they have learned that Jesus is the greatest gift ever given and He is the Reason for the Season. We also try to have other activities for our children throughout the year. Jesus saw the importance of children and asked that they be brought to Him to be blessed. Using His example, we are trying to do the same by ministering to the children of our community.
WMU
The WMU women meet each month and plan many different activities and mission projects. They have supported many different mission projects through the years including Jim & Mary Beth Henson, the Rheubin L South, Annie Armstrong and Lottie Moon mission offerings, and many others too numerous to mention. They also plan and implement many other activities such as the Widow Women’s Dinner, Boy’s Ranch Trips, Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners and Baby and Wedding Showers. The work of the WMU does not go unnoticed.
Brotherhood
We praise the Lord for our Men’s Brotherhood. The men of First Baptist Church have been involved in many outreach and missions activities. One major event over the last 10 years has been the annual Car Show. The show is done as an outreach for our church. Another opportunity that our men have hosted is a community wide men’s fish fry. A devotion is always given at these events. It is an excellent time for Christians and non-Christians to socialize together. We also have an annual Men’s Breakfast each winter and invite men and boys from the community to join us for this special outreach event.
